The “kerygma” (kernel of the Gospel) refers to providing a message or proclaiming something to someone or to a group of people. The “kerygma” is cherished in the cosmology of the creation myth. Kerygma implies a complete gospel in real life fixated on the individual of Jesus Christ, his life and mission. The book of First Corinthians utilizes the word Kerygma more regularly than some other in the New Testament. Kerygma can be characterized as the missional announcement of salvation through Jesus Christ. The “kerygma” has an integral place in the development of early church worship as it brought about an awareness and an awakening amongst the people living at the time immediately after the death of Jesus Christ.
